The spike in egg prices we’ve seen over the last several months may be over.

Midwest large eggs sold for $5.46 per dozen in the wholesale market six months ago, costing just $0.94 per dozen last week.

Experts say the drop is because of a combination of supply being up and demand has dropped during higher prices.

Don’t get too excited, though; while wholesale prices are plummeting, retail prices only fell 1.5% from March to April, and are still up 21.4% through last month.
