CHANCES ARE YOU'LL BE CHRISTMAS shopping over the weekend, but you should take some time to relax and enjoy yourself. I've got a few ideas....
THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, AKRON NATIVE David Allen Coe will perform at The Tangier and tickets are still available at www.thetangier.com.
A NEW MOVIE DEBUTS THIS WEEKEND at many local theatres. Brad Pitt and Ray Liotta star in "Killing Them Softly". It's a shoot em up involving the mob and a couple of dudes who rob a mob protected high stakes card game. It's getting great reviews.
THE HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES CONTINUE in downtown Akron at Lock 3. Sled riding, ice skating, Archie The Talking Snowman, gift shopping, a magical train for the kids and lots to eat. Most of this is Free or very reasonably priced. Great for the family.
IN BARBERTON (I'm told), Lake Anna is decorated with an amazing holiday light display that shines every night between now and New Years Day. Check it out...I will!
THIS EVENT ACTUALLY HAPPENS this Monday but it's well worth mentioning. The Moody Blues will be on stage at E.J. Thomas Hall. The concert will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the release of "Days of Future Passed". Showtime is 7:30 and tickets are available at www.ejthomashall.com.
I WOULD ALSO ASK YOU TO STOP by "Just That Twist" on the Copley Circle. This REALLY is one of the mopst amazing places in the area. Even if you've ended your Christmas shopping, stop by with the family and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. You could make this visit an annual holiday tradition.
THE KENT STATE FOOTBALL TEAM PLAYS for the MAC Championship tomorrow night in Detroit. If you are not going to the Motor City for the game, listen to it on 640 WHLO.
