WELL I GIVE UP.  THIS IS THE end of the world.  According to Sotheby's, Charles Schultz ("Peanuts" creator) had a secret mistress.  How do they know?  The auction house will auction off love letters written by Schultz to a woman half his age (not his wife).  Apparently his wife knew and tried to put a stop to it.  Ahem....

I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT GENETICS play a big roll in how long we live and how healthy we are.  This story might make that point.  The oldest person in the world just died this week.  Besse Cooper died yesterday at the age of 116.  How do we know?  Her son made the announcement to the media.  That's right, her son.  No age given for the young man, but if mon was 116, I've got to figure Sidney (the son) had to be pushing 80 or 90.

IT'S A TRIED AND TRUE FACT THAT men use time on "the throne" to read.  Certainly many newspapers have been used as reading material while men have "taken care of business".  Now, while newspapers are dying, the habit of taking care of business will never cease.  One out of three young people use their smartphones and tablets while answering natures call.

VERY SORRY TO HEAR COACH Hazell is leaving Kent State.  It was not surprising, although I think it sucks for the players and fans.  One of the biggest games in KSU history is coming up in January and the coach probably won't be there.  While I do enjoy college football, it's starting to resemble pro sports all the time.  To me, that's a bad thing.
