KENT STATE HAS FOUND A REPLACEMENT for football coach Darrell Hazell. An announcement is expected later today. Rumor has it former KSU player Paul Haynes will be the man. He is currently an assistant coach at Arkansas and also spent time as an assistant at Kent as well as Ohio State. Hazell will coach the Flashes in their bowl game next month.
WHILE WERE DEALING IN RUMORS, friends in the restaurant business tell me we have a new eatery coming soon to the Tallmadge Circle. If you remember the long gone Big Boy, it's apparently coming back to life as something else (probably locally owned, not a franchise). If true, good luck to the new operator. I spent many a night there in the 80's.
WE PROBABLY WILL NOT HAVE A WHITE Christmas, but some interesting weather is on the way for later this week. The National Weather Service says a pretty good storm will roll through here on Thursday into Friday. However, most of the precipitation will be in the form of rain. After the front goes through on Friday, some lake effect snow is possible, but after that not much in the way of snow OR rain. Wind is supposed to be a major factor with this storm.
