HAS THE POST HOLIDAY FUNK HIT you yet? If so I've got a few ideas to cure your blues! Next week E.J. Thomas Hall will host a live broadway production of "Shrek, The Musical". This would be a great opportunity to expose your kids to live theatre. Tickets are still available for both nights (Tuesday & Wednesday) and are available at www.broadwayinakron.com.
MY CO-WORKER KEITH KENNEDY WILL host the jokes (and tell a few himself) at the WKDD nite out TONIGHT at the Funny Stop Comedy Club in Cuyahoga Falls. The headliner will be James Davis and admission is FREE. If you do go, wish Keith good luck...you see he's getting married TOMORROW. This could turn out to be a wild bachelor party!
TWO NEW MOVIES OPEN THIS WEEKEND at local theatres, and both are getting rave reviews. 'Not Fade Away' is a flick about living in the 1960's. If you remember the 60's (or even if you don't) critics are praising this movie for it's entertainment value as well as it's accuracy. One of the stars is James Gandolifini. A second flick stars Matt Damon as a salesman for a fracking company dealing with people in rural America. He wants them to lease their land for natural gas drilling. Don't know if this is a "message" movie, but in every review I've seen it's getting at least 3 stars. I guess we'll have to go and see for ourselves.
FINALLY, WITH THE WEATHER REMAINING very winterlike, all the local ski resorts are up and running as well as the sledding hills and ice skating ponds at the local Metro Parks.
JOIN ME FOR THE MOST UNUSUAL talk show in Akron/Canton tomorrow and every weekday morning at 9am on 640 WHLO. Jim
