A FEW NEWS ITEMS FOUND IN JOHN AMRHEIN'S WASTEBASKET.
A RECENT POLL RELEASED BY PUBLIC POLICY POLLING (a democratic leaning outfit) found that most Americans are not thrilled about putting armed police officers in all schools. 50% say NO, while 41% say OK! The same poll said in December that 54% of Americans expressed support for the National Rifle Association. By January, the approval number had fallen to 42%. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
MORE FIGHTING IN SCHOOLS CONCERNING RELIGION. In Jackson, Ohio (south of Columbus), a portrait of Jesus has hung in a middle school since 1947. The Freedom From Religion group says that it's illegal and must come down. The school superintendant says "It's not going anywhere". I'll let you know what happens.
I'VE MENTIONED A NUMBER OF TIMES THAT I THINK Chris Christie is the future of the Republican Party. Darn few Republicans agree with me. A recent survey said that among all the possible candidates in the 2016 election, only 2 have lower approval ratings than Christie...New Mexico governor Susana Martinez and Texas governor Rick Perry. The next presidential election is still a long way off and I still say "Christie in 16".
A HUGE MID AMERICAN CONFERENCE BASKETBALL GAME will take place tomorrow afternoon at Kent States' MAC Center. The Flashes host the University of Akron Zips. The game will likely be a sellout, but you can hear the play-by-play on 640 WHLO. All KSU games are aired on my favorite radio station (hopefull your favorite also).
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND JOIN ME MONDAY morning at 9am on 640 WHLO. Jim
