ANOTHER WEEKEND IS UPON US and it might not be a bad idea to get out and play....
THE SNOW STORM PETERED OUT, but there is probably enough on the ground to hit the Metro Parks for some sled riding, skiing or ice skating. Believe it or not the temperatures are expected to rise into the 50's, but not until Tuesday.
NEW MOVIES THIS WEEKEND INCLUDE Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. The modern version of this classic has our heroes as bounty hunters. The critics hate it but young people will probably love it.
ANOTHER NEW FLICK IS MOVIE 43! I have no idea what it's about but the trailers on TV look great. I guess it's a comedy.
TOMORROW NIGHT (Saturday) THE CIVIC Theatre presents "Girls Night: The Musical. From what I understand this is a live show from Las Vegas, but I know absolutely nothing about it. I guess we could both go to www.akroncivic.com for information and tickets.
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SOMETHING a little more high brow, you might try "The Snow Maiden" presented by the University of Akron Dance Institute. Two shows at EJ Thomas Hall on Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 1pm. Get tickets at www.uaevents.com.
OR YOU COULD JUST STAY HOME all weekend, throw a log on the fire, pop open a bottle of whatever and chill. Or better yet, stop by Menches Brothers in Green for the best food in (or out) of town.
WE'LL TALK ON MONDAY MORNING at 9:05am on 640 WHLO. Later...Jim
