LARRY MODIC'S HOUSE IS GONE. While you get what you pay for (Larry purchased the place for $10,000), this is still a very sad story. However I don't think it's over yet! According to reports, quite a few people seem to be ready, willing and able to help the vet get a new home in the same Kenmore neighborhood (and these people don't seem to be grandstanding like some already involved in this mess). The city of Akron is considering a lawsuit against the seller of the house, State Representative Zak Milkovich is working on a fundraiser at a downtown restaurant tomorrow evening, and Milkovich is also looking at several replacement houses in the area. Hopefully all will end well in this story.

YESTERDAY I GAVE A BIG YAHOO to the University of Akron basketball team. I won't make that mistake again! I nearly had a heart attack listening to the game on FoxSports 1350AM. The Zips are obviously a better team than last nights foe (Central Michigan), but the Chippewas took Akron right down to the wire. The Zips DID win but.... This Saturday they travel to Oxford for a game with the Miami Redhawks. A win would set the all-time record winning streak for the U of A at 15 games. I think I'll record the game and listen later, when I know who wins. I've already had one heart attack and really believe that's enough.
ENJOY THE SUNSHINE AND JOIN me tomorrow morning at 9am on 640 WHLO. Jim
