SATURDAY NIGHT IS BOBBLEHEAD night at the JAR on the University of Akron campus.  The Zips basketball team will host Bowling Green and the first 1000 fans get a Keith Dambrot (he's the coach) bobblehead doll.  And in case you missed it, the Cleveland Indians will have a similar giveaway on June 1 at Progressive Field.  Fans will receive an Albert Belle bobblehead!  You remember Albert I'm sure.  After he left the Indians in 1996, he went to the White Sox and the Tribe needed extra security at Jacobs Field to ensure his safety.  Maybe time really does heal all wounds.

THE JURY IS STILL OUT ON THE long term effect Air Tran Airlines sale to Southwest will have on the Akron Canton airport, but the merging of American and US Airways is NOT expected to be a bad thing for the local airport.  US Airways has been using CAK for years and American pulled out years ago.  Officials at the airport think this could even be a good for Akron Canton.  The airport is really one of the great business success stories in our area.

JOHN HAD A STORY TODAY ABOUT A student reporting a possible gunman entering the University of Akron's Polsky building yesterday.  The building was cleared and no gunman was found.  My guess is somebody wasn't ready for an exam or didn't do their homework.

A RECENT STORY CAUGHT MY EYE this week and I thought I'd share...A homeowners association ordered a resident to remove a political sign from their front yard.  The sign was four inches larger than the permissable size.  So the HOA took the resident to court.  Now instead of just suffering for a few weeks until after the 2008 election, the HOA fought the residents for years.  After over four years of court fights and as much as $400,000 spent, the HOA went bankrupt.  Thats right...the homeowners spent (and waisted almost half a million dollars)...all over four inches for a few weeks before an election.  I am NOT a fan of HOA's, so I'll shed no tears.  By the way, one of the residents said if the sign stayed until election day it would lead to total chaos and destroy property values.  I just wish my problems were this insignificant.

I LOVE ELIZABETH WARREN...Why?  We'll talk on Monday at 9am on 640 WHLO.  Jim
