DIDN'T MENTION THIS ON TODAY'S show, but the crazy intersection of Manchester Road and St Rt 619 is about to get a makeover.  With the explosion of folks moving into the southern part of Summit County and the continued popularity of the Portage Lakes, the state has decided to finally update the intersection.  That part of Manchester Road has always been dangerous, and officials have been seeking improvements for many years.  While it will make traveling through that area a pain in the neck this summer, when it's all done things will be much safer (I hope).

CAN'T SAY I'M SURPRISED, BUT I am happy that the new world headquarters for Goodyear Tire has opened in east Akron.  The company's decision to stay here was a huge plus for the area, and to see workers moving into their new digs means it's real.  Congratulations to everyone who played a part in keeping Goodyears HQ here.  I still marvel at the new Bridgestone Tech Center in south Akron.  We may be rust belt, but things are moving foreward in the Akron area.  Now about the weather.....
