IT'S THURSDAY AND THE WEEKEND IS ALMOST here, so lets take a look at what might be fun over the next few days (by the way, the temperature is supposed to be around 50 both Saturday and Sunday)......
FRIDAY NIGHT AT 7PM THE JAR WILL BE JUMPING as the University of Akron basketball team hosts the Kent State Golden Flashes. This is the final regular season game for both teams and is a near sellout. Akron won the previous meeting between the two rivals in Kent back in January. Of course you can hear this game on 640 WHLO.
SATURDAY AT NOON IN DOWNTOWN AKRON, everyone will be Irish. The City of Akron presents it's annual St. Patricks Day parade. I know it's a week early but you can never start the celebration too soon. This years theme is a tribute to our men and women in uniform.
SATURDAY NIGHT COULD BE A LOT OF FUN at the Akron Civic Theatre. Three Beatle tribute bands perform live on stage. The ReBeats (local band), Revolution Pie (don't know them) and Hard Days Night (great) will take the stage starting at 6:45pm. Yea,yea, yea!!!
TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT, The Disgruntled Clown headlines at the Funny Stop Comedy Club in Cuyahoga Falls. Keith Kennedy (one half of the Keith & Shannon morning show on 98.1 WKDD) will MC tonights craziness. Keith tells me this is a show you MUST see!
NEW MOVIES ON LOCAL THEATRE SCREENS this weekend include Disneys 'Oz The Great & Powerful' (getting great reviews), 'Dead Man Down' starring Colin Farrell (a thriller) and 'Emperor' an historical piece concerning Americas dealings with Hirohito after WWII (also getting pretty good reviews).
JOIN ME TOMORROW MORNING FROM 9am to noon on 640 WHLO. Jim
