IT'S THURSDAY AND THE WEEKEND IS ALMOST here...and not just any weekend...St. Patricks weekend (yea, let's make it a weekend)!  Just about every bar and restaurant in the area will have a party (or two) this weekend, including my friends at Menches Brothers in Green.  The daylong event will happen on Saturday starting at 11am.  Corned beef and cabbage, irish coffee along with special prices on Killians, Great Lakes, Guinness and Coors beers.  Yum!

AKRON HAD IT'S ST. PATRICKS DAY parade last weekend, but you can still be Irish this Sunday...just head up to Cleveland.  The 146th annual St. Patricks Day parade begins at 2:04 (yes, not 2:03 or 2:05).  Head toward Superior Avenue and follow the crowd.

AS I MENTIONED LAST WEEK, THE FUNNY STOP comedy club presents Jimmy JJ Walker this Friday and Saturday at the club on State Road in Cuyahoga Falls.  It's just a two day run so don't get shutout.  Tonight is WKDD night featuring Keith Kennedy and all military members get free admission, just flash your ID!

ON FRIDAY NIGHT AT EJ THOMAS HALL, the one and only Lewis Black will be on stage with showtime set for 8pm.  You've seen him on The Daily Show, HBO, etc. and now you have a chance to see him live and up close (I don't know about the "up close" part, I hear pre sale tickets have been selling very well).  Get all the information at www.ejthomashall.com.

A NEW MOVIE DEBUTS THIS WEEKEND AT local theatres...."The Incredible Burt Wonderstone".  It's getting lousy reviews but stars Steve Carell, so if you like his brand of humor maybe you could take in a bargain matinee.
