DID YOU SEE THE PHOTO'S AND VIDEO from the flooding in west Akron? Holy Toledo! A huge water pipe burst and caused severe flooding in the neighborhood around West North Street and North Valley Street. People had to be rescued by firemen from their front porches by boat. Much water damage was done to cars, houses and other property in the area. Most roads in the area just north of West Market St are closed until further notice. I should also add that the city has issued a boil alert for west Akron, Copley and Fairlawn although it's just precautionary. The water at my place on the west side was OK this morning.
THE FORECAST FOR THE WEEKEND IS NOT as nice as you would hope for the weekend, but we will see some sunshine on Sunday. Temps will be cooler than earlier this week, but seasonal. I'll take it!
BY THE WAY, TALK ABOUT AMAZING PHOTOS...we had a spectacular car crash yesterday in front of Summit Mall. Some screwballs stole an SUV and were running from police qwhen the driver lost control, hit a tree, flipped onto it's top and then caught fire. The flying vehicle also hit numerous parked cars. Those in the car were taken to the hospital.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND JOIN ME MONDAY morning at 9am on 640 WHLO. Jim
